The PlayStation 5 Slim is currently priced at $424 (down from $499.99), which is the lowest it’s ever been on Amazon, according to price-trackers (pick it up in-store at GameStop to snag an additional $25 off). The new PS5 Slim keeps much of the same design as the original, with its signature curved white panels, glowing light strips around the black center, and the familiar power button, two USB ports, and a Blu-ray drive. The big change is that the front now features two USB-C ports instead of one USB-A and one USB-C, which should be more convenient for future-proofing. You can set up the Slim both horizontally and vertically. However, since it’s thinner, it’s not as stable when standing upright without a stand, which will cost you an extra $30.

Storage has also gotten a nice bump. The PS5 Slim now comes with a 1TB SSD, giving you 848GB of usable space—significantly more than the original model’s 667GB. Plus, it still has the M.2 SSD slot, so you can easily expand your storage if you need more space down the road. Performance-wise, the PS5 Slim packs the same AMD Zen 2 CPU, RDNA 2 GPU, and 16GB of GDDR6 RAM as the original model, so you’ll get the same powerful performance and graphical capabilities that support ray tracing and can output up to 8K. In terms of game performance, the PS5 Slim runs games smoothly with Fidelity mode offering rich graphics at 30fps and Performance mode dialing it up to around 60fps, according to this PCMag review. The DualSense controller remains unchanged and continues to impress with adaptive triggers and motion controls, though the battery life is still about 10 hours, which is pretty average.
