What’s New on Netflix in September 2024

September on Netflix brings new installments of well-known original series, including part two of season four of Emily in Paris (Sept. 12), season two of Outlast (Sept. 4), season seven of The Circle (Sept. 11), and season eight of Selling Sunset (Sept. 6).

A new series highlight is The Perfect Couple (Sept. 5), a six-episode murder mystery drama based on Elin Hilderbrand’s novel and starring Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Dakota Fanning, and Eve Hewson. Hewson’s character is set to marry into the wealthy Winbury family (led by Kidman) when a body is found at the wedding. The film His Three Daughters (Sept. 20) also features a stacked cast—Natasha Lyonne, Elizabeth Olsen, and Carrie Coon play estranged sisters who reunite as their dad dies.

Netflix’s documentary lineup for the month covers sports, space, and social issues. Untold: Hope Solo vs. U.S. Soccer (Sept. 3) explores the life and career of the soccer star; Apollo 13: Survival (Sept. 5) uses original footage and interviews to tell the story of the astronauts aboard the damaged spacecraft; and What’s Next? The Future with Bill Gates (Sept. 18) offers commentary across five episodes on issues like AI, income inequality, and the climate crisis. Fans of DAHMER will want to catch Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story (Sept. 19), a true crime anthology series about the brothers who killed their parents

Finally, Netflix is hosting both a live-streaming hot dog-eating contest and a live weekly series with medium Tyler Henry. Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef featuring rivals Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi begins at 3 p.m. ET on September 2, while Live from The Other Side with Tyler Henry will launch on September 17.
