There’s something about refurbished Kindles that people seem to love—they often fly off the digital shelves before I have a chance to tell people about them. Well, here’s your chance. The 11th generation Kindle Paperwhite with the higher 16GB of storage is going for $107.99 (originally $134.99) on Amazon. The sale started on Dec. 3rd and it is 69% gone at the time of this writing, meaning if it keeps up the current pace, it’ll be gone by the weekend.

The 11th generation Paperwhite was released in 2021 to great reviews. I’ve had one myself since its release and still use it most days. It comes with a 6.8-inch E-Ink display, which is slightly bigger and heavier than its predecessor. My favorite addition to the features was being able to use both the dark view (makes the background black and the letters white) with the warm light setting, which makes it perfect for reading at night without bothering your partner or getting blue light shot at your eyes.

Another great addition was making it waterproof with its IPX8 rating, although to be honest, I don’t think I’ve used that feature once (it’s still nice to know I have it, though). The Bluetooth feature for audiobooks is another great feature that I haven’t used much. It lets you connect Bluetooth headphones to it and listen to audiobooks.

Like all Paperwhites, the battery lasts weeks (up to 10 weeks, according to Amazon). And since it has a USB-C input, charging it is much faster. Of course, this is cheaper because Amazon released the 12th generation Paperwhite this year, which goes for $159.99 right now. It has a bigger display, even more battery life, and better performance, according to CNET’s review. But if you prefer to save the extra money to buy some books, the 11th-generation Paperwhite is still a solid e-reader in 2024.
