Now, you can get the 40mm GPS Apple Watch SE with the sport loop band (mainly nylon) for $169 (originally $249), which is the lowest price it has reached according to price-tracking tools. The bigger 44mm GPS + Cellular version lets you free your watch from the shackles of wifi, and it’s currently $229.99 (originally $329).

The cellular version will allow you to leave your phone at home when you go on runs, so you can answer calls or texts without being near your iPhone. The GPS version can do the same as long as you’re on the same wifi connection.

As tech writer Pranay Parab said back when this Apple Watch SE was released, this is the best Apple Watch choice for most people because it’s cheaper but you still get many of the most important features on it. The SE has the same processor as the Series 8, has crash detection, and has a great battery life of up to 37 hours, as PCMag noted in its “excellent” review. You won’t have dust resistance or the always-on display that many people asked for on the newer models, but you do get a WR50 rating, meaning it’s water resistant to 164 feet and safe for swimming in a pool or the ocean.
